BILLINGS, Barbara Joy – Of Guelph, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the age of 72, after living with Rheumatoid Arthritis since the age of 28.
Born December 17, 1953, Barb was the youngest of eight children born to Leonard (1954) and Ethel (nee Cooper) Billings (1992). Survived by sister Susan Kargus (Roy 2022) and sixteen nieces and nephews and their families.
Predeceased by brothers Neil (1998) (Shirley 2010), Don (2007) (Joan 2018), and Ralph “Chick” (2025) (Anne 2022), and sisters Carol Borthwick (1983) (Jim 2007), Diane Hilborn (1992), and Elaine Pole (2015) (Bob 2024).
Barb grew up on Speedvale Ave East and spent many enjoyable hours at nearby Riverside Park. She attended Edward Johnson, Waverley Drive and John F. Ross, graduating in 1971.
She loved animals (especially dogs), chocolate, crosswords, 50’s and 60’s music, old westerns, and, in her youth, spending time at Neil’s and Don’s Sauble Beach cottages.
Cremation has taken place and Barb is being buried with her parents at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
