Albert ‘Dennis’ Rea passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on November 13, 2024.
Born in London, Ontario, Dennis grew up on a farm in Blanshard Township with his parents, Ila (Foster) and Andrew, and his 9 siblings. He moved to Kitchener at 16 to start work at what came to be known as Chicopee Manufacturing as a machinist. After 48 years of dedication and hard work, Dennis retired to enjoy a new chapter as master gardener, pickleball player and full-time grampa. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandy (Anneveld), his sons Kris (Brooke), Matt (Laura) and Tyler, his grandchildren Elliot, Hillary, Andrew and Elsie, his younger brother Paul (Cathy), brother-in-law to Deb (Anneveld) and Heather (Rob) Campbell, and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was very passionate about sports, especially the New York Yankees and Minnesota Vikings as well as tending and sharing his produce from his very large garden, attending his grandkids’ ball games, and playing cribbage and cards. Nothing made him smile more than fixing something with his hands, especially for other people. He will always be remembered as a truly generous, exceedingly kind, and loving man who enjoyed being in the service of others.
