MOORE, Alice (née Stanley) – It is with profound sadness and overflowing love that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Alice Moore (Nana), who passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at the remarkable age of 96 years.
Alice’s life was a beautiful example of kindness, strength, and devotion to family. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her daughter, Mary (Michael), son Kent (Jane), and daughter-in-law Lucie. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Ryan (Shelley), Andrew (Sophie), and Tim (Meaghan); a cherished great-grandmother to Sawsha, Gabriella, Jessica, Michael, Domenic, Lucas, Riley, Olivia, Gemma, Grayson, Philip, and Brooks; and a delighted great-great-grandmother to Ben. She is also survived by her sister Marie, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who held a special place in her heart.
Alice was predeceased by her parents, Leda and Roy, her brother Kent, her treasured husband of 70 years, Ab, her beloved son Mark, and her precious granddaughter Shannon. Though they are gone, the love she carried for them remains eternal.
Those who knew Alice will remember her gentle spirit, her boundless generosity, and the way she made people feel important. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved, and her wisdom and laughter will remain with us always.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at St. Joseph Health Centre (Guelph), Elmwood-1 East, for the compassion, dignity, and kindness they showed Alice during her time there.
As we grieve her passing, we hold tight to the love she gave so freely and the countless ways she made our lives richer. How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so very hard.
