GARCIA, Amaya – Passed away unexpectedly in Eden Mills, ON, on the evening of July 4th, 2024, at the age of 32. Her departure has left a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Born on July 7th, 1991 in Brampton, ON, to Amagoia Garcia, Amaya was a very caring thoughtful and sweet young lady who danced to the beat of her own drum. She had many talents – she loved playing soccer, dancing and choreography, Amaya was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking and crafting delicious meals. Amaya always took comfort in helping those in need whenever she was able. She had a contagious laughter that lit up any room and a compassionate spirit that endeared her to everyone she met.
Amaya is survived by her mother Amagoia Garcia, her children Caleb and Suzanna, her siblings Derek and Monika and a wide circle of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Her passing leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Amaya’s life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am, A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis or CAMH.
Amaya’s legacy of creativity, kindness, and adventurous spirit will live on in the memories of all who were touched by her warmth and generosity. May she rest in peace, forever remembered for the beauty she brought into the world.
A tree will be planted in memory of Amaya Garcia in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
