Buck, Barbara Jane (née Brandon) – passed away on April 12, 2023, at Guelph General Hospital, after losing her battle with cancer at the age of 68. Barbara was surrounded and comforted by her family during her peaceful passing.
Barb’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her loving and grieving family members, including her loving best friend and husband of over 48 years, Richard Buck. She was a cherished mother to her three children Tiffany, Melissa, and Brandon (Shannon Lastoria) who will forever remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Barbara was also a beloved grandmother to her three grandchildren, Dylan, Fletcher, and Norah who brought her immense joy and happiness. Her sister Peg Brandon (Richard Williams); her brothers Robert Brandon (Suzanne) and Tom Brandon; her sister-in-laws Patricia Wright (Bob), Heather Buck, and Penny Fettinger nee Buck; and her father-in-law Bill Buck will always remember her generosity, compassion, and grace. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Kaye Brandon (née Olive) and mother-in-law Sophia Buck.
Barb left an indelible mark on family members, friends and colleagues with her infectious smile, her impeccable sense of style, and her love for life. She will always be remembered with great fondness and love.
A celebration of life service will be held in the Auditorium of The Arboretum, 200 Arboretum Rd, Guelph, ON N1G 2W1, on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her memory designated to the Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation via the Hamilton Health Services Centre. The doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, researchers, and all staff at such institutions save thousands of lives and they deserve our support.
A tree will be planted in memory of Barbara J. Buck in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
