HAUGEN, Betty Dolores (nee de Paz) – Resigned, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Betty, survived by her children Edwin, Eric, and Elke; her grandchildren Menitza, Thalia, Nicolas, Ariana, and Armando; and her recently arrived great-grandchild Rhys.
An exemplary mother, homemaker and cherished wife to her predeceased husband Ed; Betty, always self-effacing, nonetheless glowed when family, friends, and strangers praised her family. She knew she was the source. She always prioritised her beloved parents Nicolas and Berta, her husband Ed of 57 years, and her children.
Born in El Salvador during the depression, she emigrated to Canada in 1963 and was since then a proud Canadian. Adventurous in spirit and a lover of music, she sang always and was one of those people that everyone loved.
Like her mother before her, due to her myriad virtues she will be more remembered than missed and will remain among us.
