SAXON, Brian – Peacefully in his 83rd year, surrounded by family, at Guelph General Hospital on December 7, 2022.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years Maureen and children Carole (Peter) Hunt of Milton, Janet (Dave) Stuckless and Antony (Lyssa) Saxon, both of Guelph. Also survived by brother Noel of Wales, grandchildren Jodi, Nicki, Bradley, Brian, Kimberly, Aryelle, Layne, Quinn and Mia, along with great grandchildren Sofia, Audrey, Carson, Kaleb, Lucas, Lily, Ruby, Zoey, Chloe, William, Damon and Mason.
Brian was born in Stockport, England, one of five boys to parents Charlie and Doris Saxon. He brought his family to Canada in 1975, knowing it offered his children better opportunities. Living in Acton, he would eventually own Royal City Car Cleanup in Guelph for over 25 years. Eventually he moved to Southampton, where for 10 years he thoroughly enjoyed being the local school crossing guard.
Known for his quick wit and ability to make others laugh, he was a man of simple means whose passions in life were his family, his ever-present dogs, gardening, his beloved Manchester United and a good cup of tea, although not always in that order.
He was a kind, giving person who would always go out of his way to help others. Brian made the world a better place by being a caring and thoughtful person. By doing little things that often go unnoticed.
Cremation has already taken place. An informal gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Wall Custance Funeral Home, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
