In Loving Memory of Cornelius “Casey” Indewey (1956–2025)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cornelius “Casey” Indewey, who left us peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2025, at Hospice Wellington, surrounded by love and compassion.
Born in Mt. Stewart, Prince Edward Island in 1956, Casey moved to Guelph, Ontario in 1973, where he began a remarkable 41-year career at MacMillan Bathurst. His dedication to his work was matched only by the deep friendships he cultivated there—bonds that have stood the test of time and continue to endure.
Casey was a man of many passions, but none more enduring than his love of sports. Whether he was playing or marshalling on the golf course, chalking up wins in his Thursday afternoon pool league or continuing his reign as the King of Crokinole, Casey brought energy, camaraderie, and joy to every game. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his presence lit up every fairway and pool hall he entered.
In 2004, Casey met Jackie—the love of his life and his soulmate. Together, they built a beautiful life in Puslinch, Ontario, a place Casey fondly called his “little piece of heaven.” Their bond was extraordinary: not just husband and wife, but best friends, partners, and kindred spirits. Their love was the kind that others aspire to—genuine, unwavering, and deeply rooted in mutual respect and laughter.
Casey is predeceased by his parents Bernhard (1982) and Catharina (1993), and his brothers Tony (2019) & Rina, Charlie (2023) & Corrie, Andy (2022) & Murlean (2012), and Ben (2011). He is survived by his beloved sisters Cathy and Marj (Gerry) and by his cherished in-laws Doreen and Frank (2005), Deb (Terry), Karen (Damian), and Carl (Peggy).
He leaves behind his children and grandchildren Sarah (Brandon), Ryan, Violet and Scarlett, Brandon (Renee), Cael, Lily, Nash and Arlo, and Justin. Casey will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends whose lives he touched with his warmth, humor, and generosity.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hospice Wellington, especially nurse Claire and his PSW Summer, whose care and kindness brought comfort during Casey’s final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6th from 1 PM to 3 PM at Jackie and Casey’s home in Puslinch. All who knew and loved Casey are welcome to join in remembering the man we affectionately call:
The Man. The Myth. The Legend.
Forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Casey’s honour to Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario
