Donald Prudhomme
October 27, 1958-March 27, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Prudhomme on the eve of March 27th. Don was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grand father, uncle, and friend, who passed away peacefully at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 27, 1958, in Sudbury, Ontario, Donald was a man whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Donald was the cherished son of Helene (nee Brabant) and Emilien Prudhomme who instilled in him the enduring values of compassion, resilience, and integrity. Throughout his life, he embodied these qualities, offering kindness freely and touching countless lives with his generosity of spirit. Known for his quick wit and welcoming nature, Donald had a remarkable ability to make others feel at ease. His laughter and lighthearted humour brought comfort and joy to those around him.
He was the third child of five siblings; Rose (Georges), Richard (Diane), Denise, and Lucille (Ray). On September 7, 2019, Donald was united in marriage with Margaret, his devoted wife. Together they shared seven wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Their marriage was a true reflection of devotion and partnership.
Donald is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Margaret; his children, Renée (Philip), Alain (Valerie); Danielle, and his stepchildren, April (Marinel) and Dominic (Christine). He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren Kaveya, Isra, Galilee, Caleb, Kayla, Pavel, Lily, Curtis, Andrew, Jacob, Sierra, Alexander, Xavier, Leah, Olivier, Easton; great-grandchild Kairo and extended family, including many cousins and dear friends, all of whom will forever hold his memory close.
He pursued his education at Rayside Secondary School and later at Emmanuel Bible College, where he developed a strong sense of purpose and a lifelong commitment to serving others. His dedication was evident throughout his career, from his work at Falconbridge Mine to his contributions within the City of Sudbury, and later through his compassionate care at a local nursing home. In his later years, Donald served the less fortunate for many years at The Waterloo Regional Dream Center and then later worked as a live-in superintendent in Guelph, Ontario, taking great pride in creating a sense of home and belonging for those in his care.
In his leisure time, Donald found great joy in the outdoors, a passion he shared with his father. Together, they enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
As we remember Donald, we honour a life defined by kindness, generosity, and love. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, a quiet and enduring presence that will continue to guide and inspire.
Rest in peace, Donald. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you

7 You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.
