Donald R. Tomlinson

TOMLINSON, Donald Ross – Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Saturday, March 14, 2009, surrounded by members of his family. He was 83. He is survived by seven of his ten children; Ian Ross, Wendy D., Allen Lee, Donald Kim, Thomas Jay, Janice Lynn and Elizabeth Anne. He is also survived by Shirley Smith and Marian Tomlinson, former wives and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his children Marian Arlene, Brian Lyn and Marietta Gail and wife Lorraine Smith. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Guelph Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 190 Marksam Rd., Guelph. Funeral services to follow at 11:00 am. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Shirley Smith and Wendy Jordan, as well as Karen and the rest of the Bayshore Nursing staff for their loving care during his final months. They would also like to express their thanks to his many friends and the Guelph ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. At the time of his death, he was the reigning patriarch of ten children, forty-four grandchildren and fifty-five great grandchildren.
