McEACHERN, James (Jim) Robert – Passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14th , 2026, surrounded by his loving family at age 76.
Jim was born on April 12, 1949, in Orillia, Ontario to Irene McEachern. Jim spent most of his life in Orillia with his family and enjoyed his dedicated career as a truck driver. Jim spent his later years at Driftwood Beach with his loving wife and many friends.
Jim is survived by devoted wife, Cheryl McEachern (Robertson); his stepchildren, Martie Giefert (Isabel), Brad Giefert (Lindi) and Angela Giefert (Steven); and his cherished grandchildren Townes Giefert, Wyndham Giefert, Wylie Young, and Elliott Young. He is also survived by his sisters Mary, Arlene (Robert), and Louise (Keith); in-laws Gary Robertson (Judy), Wayne Andrae, and Marilyn Robertson, along with nieces and nephews Tammy, Debbie, and many more who held a special place in his heart. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Irene McEachern, and siblings Sherley, Dennis, and Edith and in-laws Marylou and Murray.
Jim (Papa, Uncle, Uncle Fuzz, Fred) will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who enjoyed helping others. He loved woodworking, home renovation and spending time at his trailer, where he enjoyed volunteering and a few competitive rounds of horseshoes and euchre. Jim will be remembered for his love of baseball and his dedication to the Blue Jays.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful employees at Hospice Wellington.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Hospice Wellington, whose compassionate care and support meant so much during Jim’s final days.
