MARKIE, James Wesley – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James (Jim) Wesley Markie on Thursday, March 5 2026, at the age of 56 years.
Beloved husband of Jackie Galloway Markie, dear father of Kyle James Markie and stepfather of Nikki, Michelle, and Christopher. Loved son of James Hughie Markie, and the late Betty Ann Harris. Brother of Robert Markie, Joey Markie, and Jennifer Markie. Proud Papa of Cassidy, Silas, Dakoda, Jackson, and Jensen.
James was a loving husband that would often sing his wife little love songs out of the blue about how madly in love he was. He loved gardening in the summer and fishing or camping with friends or family. He loved the outdoors, hockey, baseball, and he watched a lot of history and documentaries.
He was rough around the edges and could be stubborn to a fault, but he loved his family. He was a real family man who valued spending time and cherishing the small, beautiful things life offers. Whether it was family dinners at home or events with the whole family, he was always there. James was a stoic, strong, kind-hearted, funny person who could make anyone laugh and always joked about everything.
He was a hardworking, confident, young man who went through hardships that he was able to get away from and get out of later in life. He was able to find stability and work on the demons he had come across in life. He built the foundation to be able to find love in his last few years and support his son in his recovery. James did everything in his power to fight the health complications and push forward with smiles, jokes and laughs. He was looking forward to a beautiful life with his wife and family including his newfound love for cats. And grandchildren. He had so many future endeavors and goals he shared with many around him. He had lots of friends and people who loved him to the moon and stars.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
