Johanna Thalen

THALEN, Johanna (née Ootjers) – Of Guelph, at the age of 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep.  She was looking forward to going home to be with her Lord and Saviour.

Johanna was the beloved wife of the late Jack Thalen (2010) for 63 years.  Dear mother of Harry (Jenny), Nellie (Frank) Bergman, Eric (Katherine), Jack (Jen), Hilda (John) Van Gyssel, and Joanne (Bruce) Adema.  She was much loved by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

Mom had a strong faith and knew that the Lord was waiting for her to come home.  She loved her family and enjoyed the companionship of her friends and family.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Riverside Glen for their loving care of our dear mother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Water Street Church (287 Water St, Guelph) from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Water Street Church on September 13, 2025 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
