McMEEKIN, John “Jack” G. – It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John “Jack” McMeekin, age 81, on September 10, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family.
Born on August 14, 1944, in Alexandria, Scotland, Jack lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, hard work, and kindness to all who knew him. He was a proud member of the Royal Air Force stationed in Singapore and later spent his career in the manufacturing industry. Jack was always well respected for his integrity, knowledge, and unwavering work ethic.
While Jack was a man of few words, family was always his priority. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Christine. He was a loving father to Jonathan (Tracy), Jennifer (David) and it was his joy in life, being “Pop” to his 3 amazing grandchildren, Larissa, Owen and Ethan. Jack was the cherished son of the late Iain and Emily and will be dearly missed by his siblings Iain (Stuart), Eddie (Audrey) and Anne (2023) sister-in law Sandra and nieces, nephews throughout Canada, Scotland and England. In addition to his family, he is survived by lifelong friends, Jacques & Kathie, Floyd & Naomi who were like family to him.
Our family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre for the exceptional care and support these past 2 years for Jack.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be had at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
