John W. Chilton

CHILTON, John William – It is with great sadness, that the family of John William Chilton announces his passing in Listowel Memorial Hospital, with love surrounding him, on February 5, 2025 in his 84th year.

John will be forever missed and always remembered by Donna (nee Jenkins) his beloved wife of 33 years.

He was a loving and devoted father to Chris Chilton (Michele), Jamie Winton (Tonya) and Julie Chilton (deceased). In addition, he was the Dad he didn’t have to be to Ami Ogilvie (Glenn), Stephanie Moraze (Vicky) and Amanda Neath.

John was the most special Papa to his grandchildren Jasper Chilton (Carly), Seth Winton, Katya Winton, Zachary Neath, Alannah Neath, Logan Neath, Phinn Lavery and Emma Lavery all of whom adored him. They were his pride and joy. He was also delighted to welcome Rylan and Freyja Chilton, his great grandchildren.

Much loved brother of the late Ron Chilton (Marie) and Marian MacDonald (Larry). Dear brother-in-law of Marlene Bard (Don), Vicki Tenney (the late Terry) and Paul Jenkins (Janice).

Predeceased by his father John Egbert Chilton and Mother Thelma Margaret (nee Prior), as well as his father-in-law, Ernie Bird and mother-in-law, Bernice Bird.

John is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00pm. Light refreshments to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
