Marjorie Eunice McMullan (Eunice), née Bell, age 97, of Guelph ON, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on July 12, 2025 at the Guelph General Hospital.
Eunice was born on July 13, 1927 in Toronto, Ontario, daughter of George and Marjorie Bell. She was predeceased by husband James R. McMullan, daughter Patricia and brother Cam. She is survived by children Robert, Barbara, David and Donna (Paul), grandchildren Stephanie (Richard), Heather (James), Michael (Melissa), Brett (Lindsay), Tenny and Ruby, and great-grandchildren Erica and Mason; Quenton, Wyatt, Sullivan, and Beckham; Westley, Emma and Nolan; and Finnley and Oliver – also cousin Lorna, and in-laws Kathy Bell, and Maureen and John Gilbert, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Eunice was an accomplished pianist, earning a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto. She was an excellent piano teacher, guiding and developing young pianists from beginner to matriculants. Her own love of music was nurtured and sustained through the many musical offerings available in Guelph such as the Guelph Spring Festival and Guelph Musicfest which she looked forward to attending every year.
For many years, Eunice enjoyed singing in the Trinity United Church Choir and was a member of the Trinity UCW (United Church Women). She was also a member of the Trinity Sunshine Club where she was known for preparing the most excellent tea. Always active, Eunice was a regular at DanceFit, then Jazzercise, Tai Chi, and her Wednesday night weight-lifting classes. In all these activities, Eunice most enjoyed the friendship, company and camaraderie of the wonderful ladies/people who shared these times with her.
Eunice supported a variety of causes and campaigned door to door every April for the Canadian Cancer Society. She was also a long-time volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service to take place at Trinity United Church, 400 Stevenson St. N, Guelph ON at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 3, 2025. Reception and celebration to follow in Trinity church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Guelph General Hospital for their support and compassion.
