FRASER, Marjorie Evelyn (nee Scott) – Passed away peacefully at McCormick Home, London on Saturday, May 1, 2010, in her 93rd year. Marjorie was the beloved wife of the late John Jack C. Fraser and the loving mother of Patricia Carrier (Robert) of London, Ontario and Elizabeth Pearson (Brent) of Auckland, New Zealand. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren; Jacqueline McKenzie (Patrick) and Robert Carrier (Carolyn) and her great grandchildren; Charles and John McKenzie. Predeceased by her parents James and Bertha Scott, her sister Irene O’Brien (Lawrence) and her brothers, Donald Scott, James Scott (Dorothy) and Roderick Scott (Lourene). Survived by her brother Bruce Scott (Marylou) of Guelph and her sisters, Barbara Hefkey of Kincardine and Suzanne Fraser (Malcolm) of London. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends in both Guelph and London. Marjorie was a founding and life long member of Harcourt Memorial United Church in Guelph and when able, she attended Wesley Knox Church in London. “Marj” and “Jack” were famous for their loving attention to their home at 609 Hanlon Road in Guelph – throughout their lives they were wonderful gardeners and careful environmentalists (long before we knew that term). “Marj” was also known for her cooking and baking skills – some may remember her pies in the days of the Scott Soda Fountain on Delhi Street in Guelph. Mom was devoted to family and set a wonderful example for the importance of home and family, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. We wish to thank the outstanding staff at Trafalgar Terrace Retirement Home and McCormick Home in London for the wonderful care that they have given our mother – it is truly appreciated more than words can convey. Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. John Lawson officiating. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. Memorial contributions to Parkwood Hospital, London, The McCormick Home, London, Harcourt Memorial United Church, Guelph or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
