LEMIEUX, Michel Gerard – After a brief illness, Michel Gerard passed away peacefully in his sleep at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Guelph on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born June 8, 1947, in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Michel was raised in the Gaspé region in a large and loving family. He built a proud career in construction that spanned more than 40 years. A devoted father and grandfather, he is lovingly remembered by his children Brian (Jen), Ginette (Bruce), Sonia (Steven), and Danielle (Darryl), and by his seven grandchildren: Aliyah, Michel, Alexis, Zachary, Sarah, Wyatt, and Spencer.
He is survived by his longtime partner Mary and his six sisters: Madeline, Lucie, Marie, Thérèse, Yolande, and France. He was predeceased by his first wife, Donna; his parents, Stanley and Rita; and five brothers.
Michel will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Residences of St. Joseph’s, 401 Edinburgh Road North, Guelph. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
