Nelida Samson Kuhn (1939–2025): The World’s Card-Dealing, Tile-Stacking, Yarn-and-Glass Maestro
Nelida Samson Kuhn, born in 1939, danced off to the sparkliest craft room in the sky, April 21 2025, leaving behind a legacy of joy that could brighten any Ontario day. She didn’t just live—she lived, with a smile that invited everyone to grab a seat, a hook, or a colorful shard and join the fun.
Nelida is survived by, well, everybody else still breathing on this big ol’ planet—all 8 billion of you! From her game playing pals, to the folks she’d never met, she’d want you all to keep spreading kindness like a perfectly crocheted blanket. No pressure, though.
A master with card games, mahjong, crocheting, and stained glass, Nelida could turn any moment into a masterpiece—whether it was flipping cards for a lively round, clacking mahjong tiles ’til midnight, stitching slippers, or crafting glass that caught the sun just right. She loved life’s simple pleasures: crafting with wool and glass, all foods at the Mandarin restaurant in Guelph, or a sunny afternoon working with her plants. Her treasure wasn’t in stuff—it was in the stories, stitches, and shimmers she shared, free for anyone to pick up like a lucky tile.
In her final days, she faced multiple strokes with grace, cheering on her family and friends as they handled her affairs with love and strength. Those who knew her might picture her now, dealing a celestial deck, stacking cosmic tiles, or crocheting a galaxy with threads of light.
No stuffy service—she’d rather you play a game or make something beautiful in her honor. Nelida’s rules: eat something tasty, create something amazing, and maybe sneak in an extra stitch or shuffle for old times’ sake. Donations – Nope!… Just make someone’s day brighter.
Survived by the whole wide world, Nelida’s not gone—she’s just crafting the next big masterpiece among the stars.
