MYERS, Noel M. – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Noel Myers, in his 75th year, of Guelph, Ontario. Noel passed peacefully on November 3rd, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, surrounded by his children, family and friends.
Born in Mountmellick, Ireland in 1950, Noel came to Canada and eventually made Guelph his home. He attended the University of Guelph and went on to enjoy a successful 30-plus-year career as a realtor, known for his integrity, humour, and genuine care for his clients.
Noel’s passions in life were many — cheering on his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, watching his sons Aran and Chris play hockey, and sharing old records and classic tunes with his son Cory. He loved old British comedies, a good Irish whiskey, and long, meaningful conversations that often stretched late into the night. Above all, Noel treasured the time he spent with his four grandchildren — Lyla Rose, Grace, Rowan, and River — who brought him endless joy and laughter.
Throughout his life, Noel formed countless friendships and touched the lives of so many people. Whether through work, community, or simple everyday moments, he had a way of making others feel seen, valued, and at ease. His circle of friends spanned decades, and each one carries a story of Noel’s kindness, humour, and unmistakable charm.
He is survived by his children Aran (Allie), Chris (Victoria), and Cory (Sal); his sisters Eileen and Theresa; and his brother Robert (Linda), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Lucy and Arthur Myers.
Noel shared a special bond with his children’s spouses, whom he loved dearly and with whom he formed close, fatherly relationships. He was a proud and loving grandfather to his grandkids, who adored their grandpa and loved goofing around and acting silly with him during family dinners and holiday get-togethers. Lyla and Rowan will forever cherish their laughter-filled playtime with him, while baby Grace and River, both less than a year old, were blessed to meet and spend precious time with their grandpa before his passing. He was his best self as a father and an even more remarkable grandfather. Noel had a rare gift for making others feel special, welcomed, and loved.
He will be remembered for his sharp wit, generous heart, and love of life’s simple pleasures — good music, good company, and the enduring hope that this might finally be the Leafs’ year. His children will always treasure their memories of watching classic comedies with him when they were young (perhaps a little too young, some might say), always laughing and enjoying his company. He made sure his children knew how proud he was of them for every feat in their lives — big or small. It was never a mystery whether he loved you or was happy to be around you. His energy was unmatched, his laugh infectious, and his smile constant. He was the best dad you could ask for, the best friend you could want, and a drinking buddy like no other. His knowledge of the world, literature, music, and comedy was extraordinary, and it lives on in his children, who are endlessly proud to call him Dad. We will miss every conversation, every laugh, and every perfectly timed joke that could break the tension in a room or bring out a smile when it was needed most.
A celebration of Noel’s life will be held at a later date in Guelph. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
