PAXMAN, Patricia – Of Guelph, passed away at Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the age of 99.
Beloved wife of almost 79 years to the late Lennard Paxman. Loved mother of Richard and the late Tony. Loving grandmother of Kevin Paxman, Michelle Vandebelt (Bart), and Andrea Varcoe (Brian). Great grandmother of Wolfgang Vandebelt, and Brody and Kyla Varcoe. Predeceased by her parents George and Eliza Davis.
Pat (as she preferred to be called) was a lover of chocolate and a hater of vegetables. She enjoyed doing puzzles and playing Boggle, and even as her eyesight declined, she continued playing cribbage and other card games. Adapting, she enjoyed audiobooks on her Daisy player and Playaway books graciously chosen for her by the Guelph Public Library, which were a source for entertainment and comfort to the end.
Pat’s lifelong love of dogs brought her immense joy and companionship. Above all, Pat always put her family first, holding them at the heart of everything she did right to her final moments. Pat was very dedicated to her late husband Len – who passed away himself only 4 weeks prior – with whom she had won an award at a dance at the senior’s centre for most loving couple, and taught us what love truly is.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Pat’s name to the Lions Club of Guelph Eyesight Conservation Trust.
A tree will be planted in memory of Patricia Paxman in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
