Rita C. F. Roy

ROY, Rita – Passed away at Hospice Wellington on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the age of 84 after a long battle with cancer.

Loved Mother of 2 children Brian Rice and Susan Rice, 3 Grandchildren; Daytona McCabe, Kayla Rice, Nikos Garifaloy and Dallas Rice, 2 great grandchildren; Clayton Lauzon and Palmer McCabe.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents John and Christina Roy, 5 brothers; Bobby, Jackie, Leo, Tommy and Emmet, 2 sisters; Kay Bowser and Nora Coffin.

Rita was born in Montreal, Quebec March 11, 1941 and moved to Guelph, Ontario in 1983 and worked for the City of Guelph as well as the Wellington Detention Center.

Rita had a wonderful life filled with travel, adventure, family, close friends and neighbors. She is well known in her community for cheerful conversation while walking her dog and best friend, Rocky.

There will be no service but Rita requested a Celebration of Life for all her friends and family which will be held at:

    Saturday, September 6th, 2025
    2pm – 4pm

Memorials can be made in honor of Rita to Hospice Wellington, Guelph.
