Ronald Jefferson Williams
“Junior” | “Pops”
November 2, 1950 – September 3, 2024
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald Jefferson Williams, affectionately known as “Junior” and “Pops,” who left us on September 3, 2024, at the age of 73, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Guelph, Ontario.
Born on November 2, 1950, on the vibrant island of Jamaica, Ronald spent his formative years growing up in the family home, Folly Estate, Port Antonio, embracing the culture and warmth of his homeland. His Jamaican heritage was a source of pride and joy, a legacy he carried with him throughout his life, enriching the lives of those around him.
Ronald pursued higher education at the University of Guelph, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science, a reflection of his commitment to learning and growth. His passion for agriculture and dedication to excellence shaped his career as the Founder at The Crystal Tree, where he made significant contributions and forged enduring friendships.
A devoted husband to the late Vivienne Williams, Ronald was the cornerstone of a loving family. He was a proud father to Khalil (Kristi), Nicole (Derald), Mikhail (Anna), Kristian (Ashlie), Matthew (Summer), Sean, and Kiara (Zak) Williams. His cherished role as grandfather will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Isaiah, Iyla, Oscar, Elin, Emmett, Desmond, Jimena, Jaxson, and Vaeda, who will forever treasure the memories of their time together.
Ronald shared a close bond with his siblings, Jennifer Poirer, Glen Williams, Arlene Brady, and Morris Cole. They will miss his wonderful sense of humor, his infectious laughter and his scintillating intellect. He was a gifted writer and speaker with a lifelong passion for books and poetry.
A man of deep faith, Ronald found peace and community as a member of the Church Universal and Triumphant. His spiritual devotion and joyful nature made him a beacon of light to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
An online Tribute to celebrate Ronald’s life will be held at this link, on his Birthday, November 2nd, 2024 @ Noon Eastern Time.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Ronald’s memory to Hospice Palliative Care Ontario with love and thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital who cared for him in his final days.
Ronald’s indomitable spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of the many who loved him. We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
