BAUER, Susanne (Sue) M. – passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2026, at Hospice Wellington after a long battle with Aphasia and Dementia. Sue is survived by her husband Guy of 65 years and her two sons Scott and Jason along with 7 grandchildren James, Nicole, Byllee, Jorja, Estelle, Isaac and Hannah.
Sue was born and educated in North Toronto but after marriage set up homes in Mississauga, London, Sarnia and Guelph where she has lived for the past 57 years. Sue spent several years as a receptionist at Semex Canada before joining her husband when setting up Campus Home Hardware, with partner Alex Maciag.
Sue never faltered in her care and devotion to her husband through heart by-pass surgery and hip replacement while dealing with two cancer surgeries herself but never lost her wonderful sense of humour. Even while working full time at the hardware store, she always managed to provide delicious casseroles for the family.
Sue was also a long time Hospice Volunteer and was instrumental in setting up the original house tour and gala events.
An ardent dog lover Sue spent many hours welcoming pets into her home.
In keeping with Sue’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place, and interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.
A special thank you to the caring and compassionate personnel at Riverside Glen, and the quality care of the Hospice staff.
As expressions of sympathy memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington or with the Guelph Lions Club for Dog Guides would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Susanne M. Bauer in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
