O’LEARY, Thomas Joseph – With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Joseph O’Leary, at the age of 82, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Guelph General Hospital with love and family surrounding him.
Born in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, Tom made Guelph his home since 1965. He was the cherished father to his daughters, Deb O’Leary Stahlbaum and Rhonda O’Leary (Rob). Beloved Poppa to Shawn Gammie (Sarah), Sarah Cameron (Drew), Bryna Stahlbaum (Adam)), Aaron Stahlbaum, and Breanna Singer (Joe). Loving great-grandfather to Jane and Audrey.
Dear brother of Betty, Michael, and Pat, predeceased by brothers Ron, Gerald, John, and sister Loretta. Loved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Tom will be remembered for his quiet strength, quick wit, and boundless sense of humour. He always had a joke ready and loved to make people laugh. His greatest joy came from time spent with family — he was endlessly proud of his daughters and grandchildren. His love, laughter, and kindness will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
