DEMPSEY, Wendy Lee – It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Wendy Dempsey, at the age of 58, after a courageous but brief battle with carcinoma at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on Friday, April 2, 2010. Wendy was predeceased by her parents Herbert (1974) and Myrtle (1989). Wendy will be sadly missed by her family; Nancy (Ernie) of Waterdown, Bob of Guelph and Jim (Sandra) of Newmarket, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and close friends Pat teB, Manny and Claire, Rena, her travelling skating group and the many skaters and parents that Wendy taught over the past 38 years at the Guelph Figure Skating Club. Wendy spent 38 years at the University of Guelph and will be missed by many of her colleagues. The family would like to thank all those who visited Wendy, brought gifts, flowers, etc. during her recent hospital stays. It was so nice to know she touched so many lives. A celebration of Wendy’s life and free skate will be held at Exhibition Park Arena, 70 Division St., Guelph on Thursday, April 15 from 6-9 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4A-214 Speedvale Ave. W., Guelph, ON, N1H 1C4 or St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, 100 Westmount Rd., Guelph N1H 5H8, would be appreciated.
