WINSHIP, William (Bill) George French –
April 27th, 1927 – February 4, 2025
Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital in his 98th year.
Beloved husband of the late Nettie (nee Campbell). Beloved father of David Winship (Sandra, nee Berardi), Deborah (the late Alan) Skura, and Janice (Andrew) Kristensen. Proud grandfather of Christopher (Jackie) and Shannon (Cody) Skura (Deborah), Jennifer Kuranyi (nee Winship) (Ron) and Michael Winship [David], Matthew and Ryan Kristensen (Janice), and great-grandfather of Celestia, Arya, Athena, Scarlett, Millie, Ava, Hannah, Autumn, Memphis, Kase, Jason and Maya. He is survived by his English family; sister Jill Kelly (nee Winship) (Geoff), nieces Dawn Kelly (Steve) and Gail Ringrose (nee Kelly) (Andy) and their children Alex and Georgia.
Dad and Mom had been married for almost 60 years. They met on a ship, in 1954, bound from England to Canada, Bill moving to Canada, Nettie return to Canada from vacation. The rest is history.
Visitation will be held at WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm, the memorial service will begin at 1:30 pm. The service will be livestreamed (click this link). Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of William (Bill) G. F. Winship in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
