KERR, William (Bill) James – Of Puslinch Township, in his 96th year following a brief illness at the Guelph General Hospital on Monday, October 19, 2009. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary B. (nee Laurie). Loving father of Beatrice and John Henderson of Georgetown, Kathie and Larry Davidson of Gore Bay, Jim and Diane Kerr of Puslinch, Janette and Graham Wood of Commanda and John and Gail Kerr of Morriston. Survived by brother Irvine (Ruth) Kerr of Wales, U.K.; sister-in-law Olive Kerr and brother-in-law George Pentelow. Predeceased by his brother Ernest and sisters Beth Pentelow and Margaret Kerr. Dear grandfather of Amanda and Andrew Atkinson, Talitha and Tim Metcalfe, Tara and Kevin Tawse, James and Robin Wood, Christopher and Mallory Henderson, John and Jhacoba Kerr, Jenny Davidson and 9 great grandchildren. Bill was a life-long member and elder of Duff’s Presbyterian Church. Active volunteer at Fairview Mennonite Home, Crown Cemetery, Aberfoyle Agriculture Society, Puslinch Jr. Garden Club, Puslinch Red Cross and numerous community activities. Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Thursday (7-9 p.m.). Private family service will be held. An Open House in memory of Bill will be held on Friday, October 23 at the Puslinch Community Centre from 2-4 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Crown Cemetery, Puslinch or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family sincerely thanks the nurses and doctors at 5 West of the Guelph General Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Bill.
